More Crochet Flower Ideas

In my previous blog I used a crochet flower design as a pin for use as an accessory for scarfs and shawls. Now, I'm using the same design with a different cotton thread and different size of crochet hook to dress up hair pins and clips.

I just love the vintage look of these hair pins.

Perfect for weddings or any other special occasion.

Another design idea for hair pins.

Let me know what you think about my ideas.

Have a great day!
Cheers!

Crochet Flower Pins

I just love these little flower pins! These are perfect for fall and winter to dress up any sweater, scarf, shawl or even a string of pearls! Just clip them into the clasp of your pearl necklace and you've got a pendant!

They look fantastic in any color, and with different-sized crochet hooks and yarn you can customize them for any occasion.

I've got several more ideas on how you can use them, as well as make them in different styles, and I will post more about them soon.

Thanks!

Have a great day!

Cheers!

North Carolina Pottery

If you ever have the chance to visit Seagrove, North Carolina, America's largest community of working potters, it's a good idea to plan to stay for at least a day. It is also a good idea to grab a map at the Information Center, as the area is somewhat spread out. There are about 78 potters located throughout the sleepy town of Seagrove, and you will need to drive to most of them.

The Information Center itself sells a nice and colorful selection of pottery from every potter in Seagrove, as well as handmade soaps, crochet items, jewelry, and it's also a great place to get a hot cup of coffee. If you don't have much time, you can do a lot of  your initial shopping there and then head to the nearest pottery shops, which are less than a mile down the road.

Seagrove is a great place to visit if you love pottery. You might even see potters at work in some of the shops. It's also nice to see that not all the pottery is the same, and the potters still have their own unique styles and creative ideas.

Day at the Vineyard

If you happen to be in the  Lexington/NC area, then check out the Childress Vineyard. This place is absolutely fantastic. You can listen to live music on the weekends, enjoy the view or sign up for a free tour trough the vineyard and learn about the wine making process. The bistro has some great dishes and is a perfect place for lunch. There are a few picnic tables on the grounds and walk paths throughout the vineyard.

And of course there is a gift shop and wine tasting.

Hand-Painted Eggs

I found this store years ago in the Altstadt (Old Town) of Salzburg. All they have are hand-painted eggs with different motifs for all kinds of holidays or decorative purposes.

The prices are from 4 Euros and up but so worth it.
Here are some more examples:

I have never seen a store with so many eggs! If you ever have the chance to go there, do it! I went back 3 weeks ago and was hoping to find an egg with a painted image of Mozart on it, but no luck there. They will have them again, but I might have to go back in November and try my luck again. I own a few eggs but always left them in Germany for my mother to take care of. I didn't want them to break during the flight back to the states.

Have an 'egg'-cellent day! ; )
