Hand-Painted Eggs

I found this store years ago in the Altstadt (Old Town) of Salzburg. All they have are hand-painted eggs with different motifs for all kinds of holidays or decorative purposes.

The prices are from 4 Euros and up but so worth it.
Here are some more examples:

I have never seen a store with so many eggs! If you ever have the chance to go there, do it! I went back 3 weeks ago and was hoping to find an egg with a painted image of Mozart on it, but no luck there. They will have them again, but I might have to go back in November and try my luck again. I own a few eggs but always left them in Germany for my mother to take care of. I didn't want them to break during the flight back to the states.

Have an 'egg'-cellent day! ; )

More Crochet Doilies

Since I have bought several crochet doilies and a Filet Crochet Magazine in Germany, I'm kind of addicted to doilies. Who would have thought?!

So I have been making them and giving them as gifts so far. I'm also working on my online shop at www.etsy.com to make them available soon to everyone who loves them as much as I do.

I will also have smaller ones available in different colors and styles.
There will be crocheted Christmas items and much more as well.

                                                                  Thanks everyone!
                                                                   Have a great day!
                                                                          Cheers!

Little Gifts from Croatia

I just fell in love with this little Licitar Heart which I found in a souvenir shop in Porec, Croatia.

Licitars are used for decoration, sold as souvenirs, and given as gifts on special occasions like weddings, Valentine's Day, and other holidays. They are often decorated with a mirror in the center, representing the presence of the receiver in the Licitar-giver's heart and the heart is usually edible and made from a honey dough.

I got the little doily from an elderly woman which crochet this one and many others and sold them to tourists.

Next time I will buy even more crochet items and of course other handmade items since now I know what to look for.

     Have a great day!
Cheers!

Easter Arrangement

I had this idea for an arrangement and just had to give it a try!

It was very easy to do! All you need to do is, cover to base of the Styrofoam with artificial leaves ( hot glue or use pins) and just add flowers to the top. Fill in any empty spots on top of the foam with moss. That is it!

Give it a try!

My first Crochet Doily

I got inspired to make doilies when I picked up a few in Croatia on my recent vacation. I loved how several elderly women where sitting outside just crocheting away and making these fantastic looking items.

This picture was taken before blocking (pinning the doily on a towel and spraying it with starch and then letting it dry).
This is what the doily looked like after blocking.

I definitely will make more and try out different colors as well.

Money Origami

I'm always looking for new ways to dress up gifts, especially when I'm gifting money.
I wrapped a soap bar in tissue paper and looked online for instructions on how to fold money. Youtube had lots of videos and of course there are plenty of websites with pictures on different styles and shapes.

I folded the money in a dress and a fan shape. The fan shape of course was the easiest one.

I love the way it turned out!

Give it a try! It is easier then it looks!

Have a great day!
Cheers!
